The Weston Scholarship
After what seemed a small lifetime of nothing but virtual art events, it was very exciting to be invited to the Monterey Museum of Art this summer for an in person announcement of the 2022 Weston Scholarship awards and to see my work hung in the museum as part of a group exhibit, The Weston Scholarship. This was my second year submitting a portfolio to the Weston Collective, and I was very honored to place again in the Roman Loranc Fine Art Category.
As you can see, a number of my fellow Cabrillo students also won Weston awards. I can’t recommend highly enough the Cabrillo College Art Photography program and faculty. Without their support, instruction, and inspiration, I am certain I I would not have developed the skills and confidence to pursue my MFA at UNR (I start this fall!). Even if you are not in the Santa Cruz, CA area, check out the Cabrillo online program; many of the foundational and advanced courses are available virtually. Some are even free of charge and repeatable!
